You ready? This may be a lot to take in but you will get the idea of what our server is all about....
Okay here we go. Once you join the game you appear within the great Spawn Tower. This tower provides quite a bit of information about the gameplay within RoK (remixed). It does not contain it all because that is one of the main reasons for the website, to keep YOU the player fully informed on the hows and whats of the server.
Well after you make it through the tower you begin your journey, once you leave that tower's safe zone it is all on you. Now do not be intimidated, we have several towns and outpost that you can most likely dwell in. People are always looking for more members for their town. In fact you are the most important and welcomed in most towns. Without you the Ruler of the town cannot make it an official town and start buying buildings and protection.
Now lets say you do not want to be a Member of a town, well that is fine as well. You can be a Ruler, the only issue with that is that you start from scratch. But that is important as well. Without you there would be no town for Members to dwell in. You are the mighty commander and chief. Where you say attack your members follow and where you say to settle they all settle. However, you are not a dictator, why? No body likes a dictator. Be kind to everyone. Remember this is a balancing act. Without you there is no town, but without the members there is no town as well.
Each person plays an intimate and important part in this server. Your either the leader, or the loyal follower. Which ever path you choose depends on your play style and personality. But all roles are of the same importance. So treat each other the same.
Now there are a few more things to discuss like actually becoming a town. Here are the requirements:
1. At least 3 members (including the ruler of the town) and a house for each member.
2. A general store and Armory.
3. $5000 earned and ready to buy the town rights from the Admins.
Once you have the town rights whats next? Well buildings of course! You as the Ruler must decide what buildings are mandatory at the time. For instance, you may want an Admin shop rather than a Weaponsmith store. Or you may want a repairsmith station rather than a Admin Shop. Now how will you get all this money you may ask yourself Mr./Ms. Ruler? Well 1. Through your job (see job page); 2. Through your Members donating money for the cause; or 3. Through World Quests and daily Ruler payment. (see payment and quests for more info).
If you are a Ruler it is suggested you build far away from the spawn. If you build near it you could be a very easy target for all other towns. Whats that? Target.... OH YES! Silly me this will be a heavily PvPed server. Once you choose to become a town (rather than a small starter village) you become a target. Being a target is good, you can both attack whoever you want or trade with whoever you want. However it is bad as well because you can be attacked by whoever wants to attack you. Don't let that deter you though Ruler. You just use strategy and practice to rise in ranks.
If you get to a point where you want more than 5 members you must buy the next upgrade. $10,000 is for the next upgrade but with that money you also get several other benefits and buildings that are not unlocked for level 1 towns. At level 2 you become a castle. Castles get stronger walls and stronger defenses. A long with several other things that will be discussed in the negotiations. At level 3 you become a kingdom with 20 members allowed and several new advances as well. However to unlock a kingdom it will cost $35,000.
As you see being a Ruler can be overwhelming. But you will always have the support of us Admins and of your Members. So Ruler choose wisely. So Member choose wisely. Member choose who you will serve wisely by asking questions about the leader and their future plans for the town. Ruler choose wisely by choosing your Members carefully by asking questions about if they are strong workers and if they are willing to fight.
